Acrylic structural adhesives offer no bondline read-through on most substrates and are engineered to be as strong as possible. Thin-gauge materials, such as ACMs, are designed to be very flexible. When two flexible, thin-gauge substrates are joined with a stiff adhesive, read-through occurs—a visible distortion of the metal or painted metal surface.

Signs are not only important for wayfinding but are a critical part of any business’s branding message. As such, signs must be creatively designed and reliably constructed. Structural adhesives can replace welding, riveting and other mechanical fasteners. They offer improved appearance, lower costs.
Contemporary designers often mix materials to lend their designs a sense of contrast and complexity. Accomplishing this look in signage requires joining dissimilar elements, including metal, wood, slate, stone, concrete, granite, glass and more.
For trucks with a dump-bed, the situation is extreme. Panels must endure almost constant impact and deformation. Learn how one truck manufacturer used next-generation acrylic adhesives to replace welding on his truck beds.
Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a one-size-fits-all adhesive for sign fabrication? Such an adhesive may not exist but, thankfully, Parker LORD offers a full range of adhesives to meet every sign fabrication need. These include our very popular urethane adhesive and sealant products.
