Fluidlastic cab mounts combine elastomeric and viscous fluid damping technology. The rubber mounts encapsulate the fluid, which flows through a variety of ports and orifices depending upon the dynamic characteristics needed. The mounts can be tuned to precisely match application requirements, resulting in lower noise, vibration and stresses in the cab. The technology performs as three mounts in one, depending upon the frequency and amplitude of the excitation. First, the mount is a spring providing basic load and motion capability to the system. Second, it’s a damper providing restricted motion at or near resonant conditions. And third, it’s a tuned absorber providing superior isolation at a specific frequency.
Measurably better than conventional mounts, Fluidlastic mounts reduce vibration and decrease noise levels 5 to 10 dB(A). They are effective in temperatures ranging from -40ºC to +80ºC (or -40ºF to 176ºF). They reduce reaction loads on the cab, lowering cab stress by as much as 50 percent. The mounts are cost-effective: they decrease costs associated with extra reinforcing materials and welding points on the cab while eliminating cabin breakage incidence caused by rough terrain.

Mounts are small parts that have a big job. They isolate vibrations within equipment, extending the life of that equipment while improving safety and, when installed in human-operated machinery, enhancing operator comfort.
Vibration loading can be particularly problematic for cabs on heavy equipment—so problematic, in fact, that many governments are requiring OEMs to protect operators from the harmful effects of whole-body vibration. Choosing a cab suspension system that offers maximum protection under such harsh operating conditions, therefore, is vital.
