With over 150 years of manufacturing expertise and more than 50 years specializing in cryogenic valve engineering, Parker Bestobell is a trusted leader in LNG flow control solutions.

For nearly two decades, we have successfully supplied the marine industry with high-performance valves for LNG transportation, storage, and Fuel Gas Supply Systems (FGSS). Our products are relied upon by major gas companies, shipbuilders, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) worldwide, ensuring safe, efficient and leak-free operation in the most demanding cryogenic applications.

Engineered for Critical Marine Systems

Parker cryogenic valves are built for reliable performance in extreme LNG and fuel gas applications.

LNG Transportation

LNG carriers and bunkering vessels transport liquified gases across vast distances, exposing valves to cryogenic temperatures, mechanical stress, and continuous thermal cycling. Leak-free operation is critical to prevent LNG loss, ensure safety, and maximize efficiency.

Parker valves are engineered for durability, withstanding thermal expansion and contraction to prevent leakage and structural stress – ensuring uninterrupted, efficient transport of LNG.

LNG storage and processing
LNG Storage & Processing

Onshore LNG storage terminals, floating storage regasification units (FSRUs), and gas processing plants face constant pressure fluctuations, temperature extremes, and boil-off gas (BOG) accumulation.

Parker valves provide long-term leak-prevention, maximize system efficiency, and withstand the demanding cryogenic environment, ensuring safe, low-maintenance operation.

Fuel gas supply systems (FGSS)
Fuel Gas Supply Systems (FGSS)

LNG-powered vessels require precise, uninterrupted fuel delivery to maintain optimal engine performance and emissions compliance. Parker’s cryogenic FGSS valves handle both high and low pressures, prevent pressure buildup, and ensure the smooth, controlled flow of LNG, enhancing safety and operational efficiency.

Why is LNG Important?

  • Lower Emissions: LNG produces fewer CO2, NOx, and SOx emissions compared to traditional marine fuels.
  • High Energy Density: Offers more energy per unit volume than compressed natural gas (CNG).
  • Safe Transport: LNG is non-toxic and non-corrosive, and any spill evaporates quickly without contaminating land or water.

* According to International Gas Union (IGU), the global LNG carrier fleet consisted of 701 active vessels as of the end of February 2024.

Built for Safety & Reliability

In marine and cryogenic applications, safety and performance are critical. Parker Bestobell valves are engineered to withstand extreme temperatures, pressure fluctuation, and harsh marine conditions, ensuring leak-tight performance, corrosion resistance, and minimal maintenance requirements.

Float Level Isolation Valve (FLIV)

The Parker Bestobell FLIV valve is specifically designed to work in conjunction with Wärtsilä or Henri secondary float level measurement systems, providing secure isolation of the float from the cargo tank. It eliminates the issues commonly associated with gate valves, such as accidental cutting of the float tape, which can cause both the tape and float to fall back into the cargo tank.
