ISO and SAE: What's the Difference?

U.S.-based hydraulic system engineers have used the North American SAE hose standards for decades to help them specify the right hydraulic hose for each application. Typically known as 100R1, 100R2, 100R19, and so on, SAE standards let engineers select hydraulic hose styles based on construction and material as well as by size, temperature, fluid type, and pressure range. A global hydraulic hose standard, ISO 18752 replaces numerous SAE standards. Recognized by equipment designers around the world, ISO 18752 organizes hoses by pressure range, not construction type.
