Clipper Oil Seal

The Clipper Oil Seal is the anchor of Parker's rotary shaft seal product line and is available in a wide range of profiles and material options. The Clipper design features an integrally molded rubber/aramid fiber outer case (heel) and an elastomeric seal lip. The unique, nonmetallic construction will not rust or corrode and forms a gasket-type seal between the equipment housing and the seal outside diameter (OD).

Benefits of the proprietary composite outer diameter (heel) include:

  • Will not rust or corrode
  • Easy-to-install press-fit in the housing (bore); no cover plate required
  • Provides improved gasket-type seal between equipment housing and seal OD for worn or damaged housings

Split Clipper Seal

Split Clipper Seals are known worldwide for being the easiest split seal to install because they do not require a cover plate to keep them in the housing. The robust, composite OD provides the best retention of any split seal on the market. Replacing failed seals in the field with split Clipper seals lessens downtime and minimizes production loss.

Key benefits of split Clipper seals include:

  • Minimal disruption saves downtime and speeds emergency repairs when required
  • Installation takes minutes - not hours - since there is no need to remove shaft to install seal and no special tools are required
  • Safeguards bearings since in-field seal splitting produces no metal shavings
  • Stainless steel coil garter spring helps keep split junction tight and compensates for minor shaft irregularities
