Parker now offers PTFE compounds certified to AMS3678 standards. This certification ensures that our compounds meet the stringent requirements necessary for a wide range of aerospace and industrial applications. Available for all PTFE seals, these certified materials are designed to deliver superior performance, reliability and longevity.
Parker is an industry leader in the manufacture of systems and components for a wide variety of aerospace technologies. At our aerospace manufacturing sites, certified to ISO9001, and AS9100 management systems, we produce seals found on virtually every domestic, commercial, military, and general aviation aircraft.
Our wide range of available materials and seal technologies allow us to design a variety of solutions for critical components, such as landing gear nose struts and shocks. Capabilities include expertise in rubber to metal bonding and molding to produce product such as rubber-covered metal excluders for nose struts. Our filled PTFE slipper seals meet the reduced friction and extreme low and extreme high temperature requirements necessary to reliably operate over required life cycle. When best suitable, Parker's spring-energized PTFE FlexiSeal™ products can be configured with custom sealing lip geometries that meet requirements for low friction yet still provide reliable sealing for low- and high-pressure cycles. We have the range of material, technology, design, and validation expertise to meet an expansive array of sealing needs for aerospace.
ThermoChem™ rope, tape, sheet, cloth and tubing are constructed of woven and textured glass yarns (plain and wire-reinforced) and form a non-porous, non-fraying, high tensile strength firewall. Widely used in aircraft firewalls and binding edges of metal components. Thermo-Chem firewall sheets, rope, tape, cloth and tubing are flexible, fire-resistant fabric products used in applications where flame and fuel resistance is required. Their composition and construction from woven and texturized glass yarns, plain or wire-reinforced, form a non-porous, non-fraying, high tensile strength, firewall that offers long-term resistance to oils, solvents, vibration and abrasion. In addition, their flexibility enables them to readily conform to a variety of shapes. Widely used in aircraft firewalls, binding edges of metal components, and in materials of construction for boots, bellows and expansion joints.
Parker solves problems for Aerospace customers. It's uncommon that standard materials and profiles can adequately handle the critical mechanical or performance requirements of aerospace components. Parker's material expertise extends beyond traditional offerings. Our PTFE material science experts consult with customers to select combinations of optimal filled PTFE blends, compatible structural inserts, and metal springs. Our development engineers work one-on-one with customers to design and test customized features that lessen costs - such as orientation notches and bumps that eliminate assembly and installation issues. See profile FBN-H in our catalog to learn more.
Parker designs rotary shaft seals for a wide range of dynamic, rotating aerospace applications. Our technologies include: elastomer lip products for improved wear resistance and enhanced sealing; Clipper® oil seals with composite aramid fiber/elastomer housings which resist corrosion and eliminate seal retention issues caused by thermal expansion; chemically resistant and low drag PTFE materials. Whether it's a standard profile or customized design, we offer quality products, where and when you need them, that meet exacting specifications.
Parker material expertise and sealing technologies improve comfort and safety of military vehicles.
Parker's range of materials including HNBR, PEEK, and thermoplastics - including Resilon® polyurethane - expertly manage shock loads encountered in all types of terrain. Our advanced design and validation technologies streamline product development of complete sealing packages - rod seals, buffer seals, and wipers - that work in tandem to meet friction reduction, extrusion resistance, and wear management requirements.
Tadpole tapes provide thermal sealing for compartment doors under light pressure where bolting force is limited. Parker's tadpole tapes are resilient and will not harden when exposed to prolonged high temps. Designs can be customized for temperature exposure and bolting force with a wide range of core (bulb) and cover (tail) materials of construction.
