LORD High Performance Coatings (HPCs) provide excellent fluid, ozone and solvent resistance for applications where high strain and fatigue resistance are important. These coatings are superior to other alternative coatings due to their critical advantage of high adhesion to substrate elastomers, resulting in extended fatigue life of parts prior to cracking.
HPCs are based on three different elastomeric materials: HPC-3 is based on Fluoroelastomer (FKM); HPC-5 is based on Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR) and HPC-6 is based on Ethylene Acrylic (AEM).
Improve performance, lower cost and reduce weight with LORD Heat-Reflective Coatings (HRCs). HRCs not only reflect radiant heat, but also provide protection against ozone and fluids — like oil and gas.
In the automotive industry, LORD HRC coatings reduce the degradation rate of your automotive elastomeric components, lengthening the part’s service life. Parts made from a less expensive elastomer, such as EPDM, and coated with HRC show equal or better performance over the same part made from a more expensive elastomer, like silicone. By eliminating heat shields from engine compartments, you can achieve increased design flexibility and benefit from weight savings that will contribute towards meeting Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) requirements.
