Structural Adhesives

LORD acrylic adhesives are proven to bond to bare metals, composites, and a large number of thermoplastic materials. The combination of excellent cure kinetics at room temperature and minimal need for surface preparation make acrylic glue the ideal choice for both automated and manual assembly processes.

What are Structural Acrylic Adhesives?

A key property of acrylic-based adhesives is that they can have a long room-temperature open time but once they begin to react, they quickly reach handling strength. The viscosity of acrylic bonding adhesives allows for very easy dispensing by hand while maintaining a non-sag characteristic. Also, acrylic glue changes color during cure, giving a visual indication that the adhesives are cured. Another key property of acrylic adhesives is that they can have a long room-temperature open time but once they begin to react, they quickly reach handling strength. Other adhesive chemistries are not able to match this cure profile. LORD structural acrylic adhesives offer outstanding toughness that delivers impact resistance, excellent low- and high-temperature performance, and long service life.
