Heatric Heat Exchanger

The Heatric Printed Circuit Heat Exchanger (PCHE) combines Heatric’s unique engineering and manufacturing expertise to deliver high integrity, inherent safety, game changing size reduction and world leading performance.

What Is a Heatric Printed Circuit Heat Exchanger?

Heatric’s Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers (PCHEs) are manufactured using a specialised solid-state joining process known as ‘diffusion-bonding’. This process creates a heat exchanger core with no joints, welds, or points of failure. The resulting unit combines exceptional strength and integrity with high efficiency and performance.

By incorporating diffusion bonding with micro-channel technology, Heatric is able to manufacture a unit that is up to 85% smaller and lighter than traditional technologies such as shell and tube heat exchangers. This reduction in unit size can lead to significant savings in structural costs due to elimination of excess pipework, frames, and associated equipment.

Heatric’s PCHEs have been well-established technology in the upstream hydrocarbon processing, petrochemical, and refining industries for many years. Customers such as Petrobras, BP, Shell, and ExxonMobil utilise PCHEs in a range of applications around the world. Thousands of Heatric exchangers are in operation in both onshore and offshore applications.

The advanced performance of PCHEs makes them well suited for a range of demanding applications. By utilising the benefits of this technology, Heatric continues to develop heat transfer solutions for a wide range of market sectors.

Benefits of Heatric Heat Exchangers

Heatric’s unique diffusion-bonding manufacturing process creates incredibly high-integrity exchangers with no seams, gaskets, joints, or points of weakness and failure. This high integrity brings with it a host of benefits in both capital and operational cost savings including (but not limited to):

Technical Features of Heatric Heat Exchangers

There are a number of key technical features which create the unique structural characteristics and, in turn, the key benefits of employing Heatric PCHE exchangers into your heat transfer projects.

These benefits combine to create a heat exchanger capable of superior performance over traditional models with an overall footprint as much as 80% smaller than a shell and tube heat exchanger. In addition, the inclusion of integrated maintenance nozzles makes cleaning the internal flow passages extremely simple and helps to maximise the overall uptime of your exchanger.

Minimising downtime ensures the PCHE is able to remain operational for the maximum time possible and reduces many of the overheads associated with unecessary repair work – helping your company to increase profitability and deliver exceptional service to your clients.

Manufacturing Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers

Heatric’s PCHEs are the product of over 30 years of manufacturing and development. As a result of the specialised manufacturing processes used during production Heatric’s printed circuit heat exchangers are robust, durable, and safe. By incorporating diffusion bonding and high-alloy welding, Heatric is able to produce gasket-less, seamless products that are immune to the catastrophic failure modes other heat exchanger technologies are vulnerable to.
