Dairy Product Purge

As dairy produce moves from each stage in production to the next, some product may remain within upstream tanks or pipes. In order to flush this product downstream, pressurised gas or air is often used to purge the dairy. The use of unfiltered air during product purge may introduce airborne bacteria to the dairy produce, leading to product contamination and spoilage.

The microfiltration of pressurised gas eliminates airborne particulate including micro-organisms, dust and industrial lubricants which may have consequentially been introduced to the product. The use of sterile pressurised gas is essential to ensure food safety.
