January 2017 – Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, introduced an all-new range of integrated drying and filtration systems: Parker Zander CDAS (Clean Dry Air System) and OFAS (Oil Free Air System) feature innovative technology and ensure validated air quality and efficient operation. The air quality is third-party validated to ISO 7183 and ISO 8573-1 for both systems while OFAS also offers class 0 with respect to total oil from both oil lubricated and oil free compressors. This classification ensures highest quality air at the point of use for critical applications at a fraction of the cost of a dedicated oil free compressor. Both CDAS and OFAS are specified with advanced filters that include the latest Parker domnick hunter OIL-X technology.
The innovative systems have been designed to provide consistent high performance even over an extended period of time. Developed to set a new standard for the industry in terms of efficiency and productivity, they use a specialist high-strength desiccant cartridge with snowstorm filling that maximises packing density, prevents channelling effects, guarantees a consistent dew point and contributes to an extremely low differential pressure, helping to reduce the energy consumption of the compressor.

Economy and productivity meet high performance: With CDAS and OFAS, Parker Zander has redefined compressed air drying and filtration in order to provide for the best possible combination of economy, efficiency, quality, functionality and longevity. A range of state-of-the-art energy saving technologies is built into every unit as standard. Together with advanced flow management and a unique filter offering consistently low differential pressure, it provides for significantly reduced energy consumption and reduced running costs. The advanced filters used in both systems include state-of-the-art OIL-X technology by Parker domnick hunter. This technology has been developed in tandem with the Parker Zander CDAS and OFAS dryer ranges and is available in four different variants (water separation, coalescing, dry particulate and oil vapor removal).
CDAS and OFAS help save energy and money asenergy saving technology is standard on all units. It automatically adapts the dryer operation to the ambient inlet conditions and compressed air demand, ensuring optimum energy consumption and full utilization of the desiccant material. The results are reduced maintenance and significantly lower energy costs with savings of up to 85%. Furthermore, full bore internal flow paths and full bore cylinder valve systems provide full air flow and decrease the system differential pressure, helping to significantly reduce compressor energy consumption. Also, the desiccant cartridges are snowstorm filled with high strength desiccant and come with an unparalleled 5 year lifetime, decreasing overall operating cost.
CDAS and OFAS are easy to install, operate and maintain. Both systems feature large HMI display screens which provide real-time information of the system status and operating conditions. The purge setting can be set at minimum operating pressure easily, without the need for specialist tools. Furthermore, threaded top end-caps enable the straightforward replacement of the desiccant cartridges, enabling a super-fast desiccant change without the need for special tools.
CDAS and OFAS provide process safety and peace of mind. The systems provide air which is validated by a third party according to ISO 8573-1; on top, OFAS achieves third party validated class 0 air with respect to total oil from both oil lubricated and oil free compressors. Corrosion protected columns ensure a long operational life and come with a 10-year guarantee.
