Praha/Zvolen, Czech Republic, 2 December 2019 – Today, BRC Slovakia, a certified distributor for Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, handed over a new pneumatic stand at the Technical University in Zvolen. The new facility will help to enhance knowledge in the field of pneumatic systems, not only for students of the Faculty of Environmental and Manufacturing Technology, but also for partners from the BRC company and the Technical University in Zvolen.
Since its opening in 2016, under the leadership of specialists, more than 360 university students have been taught in the training centre and more than 120 BRC customers have been trained. BRC Slovakia has equipped the training centre with stands with the latest hydraulics and pneumatics solutions from Parker Hannifin designed for training in four different programs: H1 - hydraulics essentials, H2 - hydraulic system operation and maintenance, H3 - hydraulic system diagnostics, and newly also P1 - pneumatics essentials. All participants receive both theoretical and hands-on training. Practical lessons are carried out by simulating real situations on educational stands.
The stands are equipped with Parker Hannifin products. They include hydrostatic transducers, working fluid reservoirs, hydraulic lines, filtration of hydrostatic mechanisms, non-return valves, manifolds, pressure control valves, flow control elements, pneumatic cylinders, pneumatic manifolds, air-conditioning units, limit switches, flow controllers, check valves, and logic elements.
Doc. Ing. Pavel Beňo, PhD., Dean of the Faculty of Environmental and Manufacturing Technology, said: “The training centre at the Faculty of Environmental and Manufacturing Technology has brought our students and partners the latest in hydraulics and pneumatics solutions. I would like to see such centres at all universities - not just this one. Thanks to the centre, our faculty competes effectively with other world-leading universities. The success is down to the cooperation between the university and the private sphere, which must continue to be developed and supported. I believe that the more sophisticated the equipment our schools have, the more we will be able to motivate potential students to choose a technical career - who would not want to cooperate on the propulsion systems of new space rockets in the future for example? However, this cannot be achieved without comprehensive knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and other engineering disciplines.”
The training centre provides certified Parker Hannifin training provided by a certified BRC Slovakia lecturer. The training is attended by practitioners and TU students as part of specialised courses in Experimental Methods and Machine Testing, Technology Reliability, Technical Diagnostics, and Fluid Mechanisms. The outcome of the training is a certificate confirming the successful completion of the course, these are given to BRC customers and TU students for whom it can open up interesting opportunities in their future careers.
“We have done a lot of work together in the last three years, and great thanks must go to all the people at the Faculty of Environmental and Manufacturing Technology of the TU Zvolen. That is why I am all the more pleased about the fact that this successful cooperation is developing further and we are now handing over a new pneumatic stand for use. We believe that it will serve not only students, but also other people interested in education in the field of hydraulics and pneumatics,” added Mr. Miroslav Drmla, Managing Director of BRC Slovakia.
Lubomír Bartejs, Parker Hannifin's distribution manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and present at the ceremony said: “We greatly appreciate the cooperation between the Technical University and our important partner, BRC Slovakia. We are pleased that through our quality products and solutions we are able to help increase the professional knowledge of students and practitioners, i.e., the technical staff. I thank everyone for this initiative and wish you much success in the future.”
