Advanced features enhance Parker’s next-generation electro-hydraulic control and asset management system

Munich, Germany, 1. April 2019 - Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has announced the addition of several advanced features to its mobile Internet of Things (IoT) offering. The Parker Mobile IoT solution leverages the Microsoft Azure Cloud Services platform to create a digital link from traditional on-machine network to a brand-able, customisable, easy-to-configure digital interface that provides full visibility and insight. Parker is now adding impact management and advanced reporting services, offering key insights into machine’s operational status and system data.

Using standard protocols, Parker’s Mobile IoT solution integrates intelligent hydraulic components and smart sensors with electronic control hardware and cloud-based software to create a seamless digital ecosystem. This enables OEMs across various industries to develop customised solutions that digitally integrate hydraulics, smart sensors, machine controls and the cloud.

Parker provides numerous benefits of integrating hydraulic components, smart sensors and customisable software that delivers next-generation Mobile IoT, while providing flexibility in design. The system’s integration with Parker IQAN and over-the-air-updates reduces design development and servicing times while enabling those without extensive programming skills to create advanced functions quickly and easily.

On the jobsite, Parker’s Mobile IoT solution helps improve machine performance and productivity by accessing information instantly, allowing adjustments to machine operation to be made in real time, as well as viewing historical data.

Assets are managed with live diagnostics to help increase uptime and improve performance, safety and productivity. “Our customers are looking for technologies to improve efficiency and increase uptime,” said Clint Quanstrom, IoT General Manager, Motion Systems Group. “Our system dramatically reduces development and service times, optimises equipment performance and simplifies remote monitoring for OEMs and fleet managers”.

On display at the bauma trade show, Munich, to be held between 8-14 April 2019, Parker will demonstrate solutions designed to reduce asset downtime, eliminate unnecessary spend, ensure compliance and safety, as well as gain critical visibility into the performance and locations of mobile equipment.
