A program to identify, hire, and develop talented, newly graduated engineering or operations management professionals, providing an opportunity to start their careers in a diverse, global Fortune 250 company.
Participants are introduced to lean manufacturing processes used by a world-class, global manufacturer, with the objective of developing the participants to be future functional and business leaders.
Associates assist in lean activities, establish operational methods and work standards, and collaborate in designing and improving manufacturing and production methods.
Who should apply?
The Parker lean engineering team is looking for candidates for the leadership development program who meet or exceed the following criteria:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering or operations management
Superior students with grade point averages of 3.0 or better
How long is the program?
The Lean Engineering Leadership Development Program is two years in length. Participants rotate every six months to a new assignment.
Are participants required to travel?
Participants in the program have the opportunity to visit multiple Parker Hannifin facilities as part of their work experience, as required by business needs. This company-paid travel offers participants the chance to see how lean manufacturing practices can be applied based on the requirements of various operations. Additionally, participants travel to Parker’s corporate headquarters on occasion for training or meetings with other development programs, for the purpose of mutual development.

What opportunities are available at Parker after the trainee program ends?
Parker recognizes the value of the experience and knowledge gained by program participants. Based on desired career goals, team members can progress in lean-related careers such as Lean Engineer, Plant or Division Lean Manager or Group Lean Manager. Team members can also progress along the operational career path in positions such as Production Supervisor, Business Unit Manager, Plant or Operations Manager, or General Manager. Parker’s generous continuing education programs encourage team members to further their development and enhance their careers.
Preference is given to those with geographic flexibility and willingness to relocate.
