Eindhoven, Netherlands, 15. October 2019 - Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, will be demonstrating its innovative coating, instrumentation, device enclosure, and thermal and fluid management solutions to support technology innovation and optimize semiconductor and electronics manufacturers at the next Precision Fair in the Netherlands. Parker electromechanical automation and linear motion systems products are found just about everywhere precise movement is needed, from research laboratories, semiconductor plants, and other automated factory processes, to mines, foundries and satellites in space.
Faced with stringent manufacturing standards and ever-rising customer requirements, global semiconductor fabricators, consumer electronics makers and producers of embedded automotive and onboard aerospace equipment turn to Parker for state-of-the-art EMI shielding, heat-dissipation solutions and corrosive-resistant materials, instrumentation and fluid-conveyance systems.
Parker will be showcasing Parker Prädifa’s PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) sealing solutions. PTFE seals are used in a variety of applications where other seals fail to meet the required temperature range, chemical resistance and wear requirements. Parker’s standard PTFE product groups include FlexiSeals, Slipper Seals, Anti-extrusion rings and guiding tapes.
Amongst the many exhibits featured at Precision Fair will be Parker’s resilient metal sealing solutions suitable for extreme environments. Resilient metal seals meet the challenges of high temperatures or cryogenics, high pressures or hard vacuum, corrosive chemicals and even intense levels of radiation. The chemical resistance of the metal seals is superior to that of perfluoro elastomers. With ever more stringent pollution and leakage legislation, plus the demand for greater efficiency and lifetime reliability, metal seals provide the highest integrity sealing solutions.
Another product that will be featured on the stand is the PFU Unit. The unit is custom built for cleanroom applications. One such example is a Cleanroom PFU Unit that was built with the functionality of regulating vacuum and large quantities of Clean Dry Air (CDA) to ISO 8573-1 class1.3.1. One of the requirements was that the output pressure of the CDA would be very stable with very low pressure drop to allow the use of a standard 8 bar compressor. Full monitoring was required, and the solution had to be realised in a very short time frame.
Parker’s solution was that the regulation functionality for the system was designed using specially modified standard components. To ensure the output was to the required standard of cleanliness, the output was filtered. Both pressure and vacuum input and output pressures were monitored by pressure sensors providing balanced outputs using a bespoke electronic PCA. All components were washed in a dedicated washer and assembled in an ISO 14644 class 6 cleanroom.
