The high-quality couplings, fittings, hoses and seals can be combined to give an ergonomic, reliable and durable, system solution that ensures correct operating temperatures are maintained in cooling circuits in applications such as turbines, electronic racks and machine tools.
Parker’s quick-action thermal management couplings offer tool-free assembly to save time in initial assembly and any subsequent maintenance operations. Thanks to the incorporation of a shut-off feature, fluid can remain in the circuit during maintenance work and does not need to be drained. A number of material options are available, these include aluminium to align with the industry trend towards lightweight construction, and nickel-plated brass or stainless steel for a corrosion-free solution compatible with a wide range of liquids. A broad choice of sizes (3, 6, 9, 12, 16, 19 and 25 mm), means the optimal product can be selected for a specific cooling circuit application.
The low pressure drop in Parker’s coupling systems helps to maximise energy savings without compromising system performance, while their small form factor allows them to be installed in applications with restricted space. The company’s RNS systems for block and panel installation further enhance design freedom for planning and installation.
A flat sealing valve design is another important feature, this prevents air from penetrating the medium and the medium from leaking during coupling and uncoupling operations before the start of maintenance work; this is especially important on applications where electronic components or batteries are present.
SAE J20 R3 Class A specification 6722 series silicone hoses are designed for use with Parker’s thermal management coupling systems. The low permeation material is compatible with a wide range of coolant fluids and can withstand both low and high ambient temperatures - ranging from 54°C to +177°C - as well as ozone and UV attack more effectively than traditional solutions. Resistance to cracking and hardening, suffering dry rot an increased suitability for installation in narrow and compact spaces plus the ability to dampen noise and vibration are further benefits of Parker’s 6722 series hoses.
Parker also offers a wide range of seals in different materials for use in its thermal management coupling systems; these can be selected depending on the medium type and temperature of a specific application.
Parker’s viability as a single source for thermal management solutions is enhanced by an extensive range of push-to-connect fittings as an alternative to metal screw-on, clip-on and barbed connection technologies. Productivity can be significantly increased due to the rapid assembly these allow versus more traditional methods.
Push-to-connect fittings are available in polymer or metal and sizes ranging from 4 mm to 22 mm in diameter. They can be combined with a variety of flexible tubing materials and ensure maximum flow rates, are 100% leak-tested and individually dated in production.
