Digital Twins are a key technology of Industry 4.0 and therefore an important building block for your competitiveness. Why is Parker connecting more and more of its physical products within the digital world? We will give you an initial insight and show you examples for future use.
A Digital Twin is the virtual image of a physical object, system, or process. In our case, it is the digital representation of a Parker product. To this end, we provide all relevant information and data about our products in a standardized and interoperable format. - The Asset Administration Shell (AAS). This allows to use data from products across companies, platforms, and software. In addition, with the help of the Digital Twin, every single instance of a product can be tracked over its complete life cycle and information can be used profitably along the entire value chain.
Using the AAS, we provide our product information in a machine-readable format for both our article numbers (type information) and our serial numbers or PTS IDs (instance information).
The contents of the type information include, for example, the digital nameplate, documents with their metadata, and the technical properties of the product. The instance information additionally includes individual production and diagnostic data.
