Discover Parker Hannifin's solution of innovative Digital Twins based on the AAS.
Digital Twins are a key technology of Industry 4.0 and therefore an important building block for your competitiveness. Why is Parker connecting more and more of its physical products within the digital world? We will give you an initial insight and show you examples for future use.
A Digital Twin is the virtual image of a physical object, system, or process. In our case, it is the digital representation of a Parker product. To this end, we provide all relevant information and data about our products in a standardized and interoperable format. - The Asset Administration Shell (AAS). This allows to use data from products across companies, platforms, and software. In addition, with the help of the Digital Twin, every single instance of a product can be tracked over its complete life cycle and information can be used profitably along the entire value chain.
In this video series, we introduce you to the exciting world of digital twins and administration shells. In the first episode, experts explain in simple terms what digital twins are, how they work and what advantages they offer for companies and industry. Further episodes are already in preparation. This series is aimed at everyone who wants to learn more about digital technologies, regardless of their previous knowledge. Join us as we explore the possibilities of digitalization and find out how you can benefit from these innovative concepts!
In the planning phase of a project, you benefit from the comprehensive information provided by Digital Twins when making decisions. Using the product-specific data, you can easily compare different options and quickly select the right product. To increase efficiency the integration of the item into your ERP system can be automated by importing the Digital Twin. If you have any product-specific questions, you will find all further information on the product directly in one place.
Digital Twins, which information is available via the AAS, enable you to quickly develop optimized designs and processes. CAE data such as CAD or simulation models can be exchanged automatically and across software solutions. The integration of various manufacturer information into a system or a virtual prototype is greatly simplified.
During commissioning, all necessary information and documents are accessible via the Digital Twin. During operation, the Digital Twin can support the optimization of operating conditions based on real-time system data. As part of Condition Monitoring, technical problems can be detected at an early stage and downtimes can be minimized. You also benefit from the information provided by the Digital Twins when it comes to maintenance and spare part procurement.
Digital Twins are becoming increasingly important at the end of a product's lifecycle: they provide detailed information about which parts of a product can be reused, recycled, or disposed of. This significantly contributes to the sustainability of your company and will become a must-have for the European market with the introduction of the European Digital Product Pass.
Using the AAS, we provide our product information in a machine-readable format for both our article numbers (type information) and our serial numbers or PTS IDs (instance information).
The contents of the type information include, for example, the digital nameplate, documents with their metadata, and the technical properties of the product. The instance information additionally includes individual production and diagnostic data.
