Heat Exchanger Materials

From 30+ years of operation and continuous development, Heatric can produce diffusion bonded heat exchangers in an unmatched range of materials. The following is a selection of the materials that Heatric can utilise in heat exchanger manufacture, each chosen for its suitability based on duty, process materials, and operating environment:

  • Duplex 2205 (S31803) – duplex stainless steel
  • Dual certified 316L (S31603) – austenitic stainless steel
  • Dual certified 304L (S30403) – austenitic stainless steel
  • Titanium grade 2 (R50400)
  • 6% moly (N08367) Al-6XN super austenitic stainless steel
  • Alloy 617 (N06617) iron-nickel-chromium based alloy

Heatric also has qualified production process in place for Alloy 347 and Alloy 120 that are suitable for industrialisation.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is the most common material used in the construction of Heatric PCHEs as its innate properties are able to facilitate the wide range of benefits offered by diffusion bonded exchangers.

These corrosion resistant alloys are able to operate effectively under both extreme hot and cold temperatures, without becoming damaged as a result of thermal fatigue. This is crucial when working with heavy industrial machinery capable of producing substantial amounts of heat when online and helps in achieving the high performance attributed to our uniquely constructed PCHEs.

Material development is continually ongoing with current research into Alloy 59 (NO6059), Stainless steel 310 (S31008) and Alloy 800H (NO8810) amongst other potential materials for use in advanced and specialised duties.
