Why is Parker committed to this technology and connecting more and more of its physical products within the digital world? We will give you an initial insight and show you prospects for future use.
A Digital Twin is the virtual image of a physical object, system, or process. In our case, it is the digital representative of a Parker product. To this end, we provide all relevant information and data about our product in a standardized and interoperable format - the Asset Administration Shell (AAS). This allows you to use the data from our products across companies, platforms, and software. In addition, with the help of the Digital Twin, every single instance of a product can be tracked over its complete life cycle and its information can be used profitably along the entire value chain.
We use the AAS to provide our product information in a machine-readable format for both our item numbers (type information) and our serial numbers or PTS IDs (instance information).
The content of the type information includes, for example, the digital type plate, the documents with their metadata and the technical properties of the product. The instance information also contains individual production and diagnostic data.
