New Rod Lock Air Cylinders Series 2AP and 2ANP Catalog

Parker’s Cylinder and Accumulator Division is always looking for ways to bring cutting edge technology to the market. To support this effort, we are excited to launch an improved rod lock option for our NFPA Steel Air Tie Rod Cylinders.

The new Series 2AP/2ANP includes a rod lock design that is a spring-energized, air-released locking device with manual override. The rod lock’s purpose is to hold the piston rod in position during an air pressure loss event, such as a power-off or e-stop condition. The 2AP/2ANP is a drop-in replacement for the legacy 2AJ/2ANJ rod lock cylinder design for bore sizes 2” to 8”. It has the capability for additional safety while still providing the same high performance you should expect from a Parker cylinder. This new design will only be available with piston rod codes 1 and 3. Rod lock position sensors can also be supplied to support safety requirements.
