The meat and dairy industry demands the ultimate in cleanliness and sanitation in food preparation areas. These areas are washed down nightly with hot (140F), high pressure sanitizers. These sanitizers are caustic or acidic depending on the food. Much of the equipment is pneumatically operated but the industry is moving to electronic controls that are housed in “water-tight” NEMA 4x cabinets. Electrical cabinets eventually develop leaks allowing moisture build up on electronic components. The moisture leads to premature component failure. Premature failure of components leads to emergency service and production down time. The Cabinet Dryers are designed to purge the inside of the cabinets with very dry air that eliminates moisture and premature component failures.
Manufactured to Parker’s strict quality standards, the Cabinet Dryers are specifically designed to withstand the harsh wash down environment. The heart of the system is Parker’s Membrane Air Dryer technology. Their simple hollow fiber membrane dryer design requires no electricity and have no moving parts. They come in three sizes capable of drying out cabinets up to 36 cubic feet. They are simple to install and require inexpensive and quick annual maintenance.
Many plants operate with the problem of moisture in electrical cabinets by managing downtime emergencies. Emergencies divert limited maintenance personnel and disrupt production at the cost of thousands of dollars per hour. The Cabinet Dryer reduces these maintenance and lost production costs by 80% or more. It does this while freeing up valuable maintenance personnel that are better devoted to important routine maintenance work rather than daily emergency response.
