Fluid System Connectors Division Takes Innovative Steps in Addressing New Lead-Free Requirements with New Line of Brass Fittings and Valves.

With both California and Vermont passing legislation mandating lead-free plumbing fixtures in all water applications for human consumption and 20 additional states considering similar measures, we are offering new lead-free brass fittings and valves for the food, beverage, and potable water markets.

These new cost-effective unleaded products are designed for use on equipment that dispenses or conveys water for human consumption, which included drinking and cooking.  The durable brass fittings and valves meet California AB 1953 standards for Potable Water Use.  They are suitable for high-pressure brewing and dispensing at temperatures up to 400^oF and will not adversely affect product flavor.  They will hold up in harsh commercial environments and are more cost effective in comparison to other metals, such as stainless steel.  The new American-made fittings and valves are available in compression, pipe, push-to-connect, and flare.

 

New Bio-Based Plastic Push-to-Connect Fitting Delivers Full-Flow Profile and Tight Tube Bends for Water Applications.

LIQUIfit, a revolutionary fitting for water applications, features a convenient, compact, push-to-connect full-flow profile.

The new fitting features a full, stainless steel gripping ring that eliminates the need for locking clips.  As gripping and sealing within the fitting is achieved using the outside of the tube without deformation, there is no flow restriction.  The smallest orifice inside the fitting is larger than or equal to the internal diameter of the tube.  The design also enables the tightest tube bends in the industry.

Keeping sustainability in mind, the fitting body is manufactured from a unique bio-based high performance polyamide produced from renewable castor seeds, to expand utilization of non-fossil based resources.

The new Liquifit fitting is sustainable for water, potable liquids, and neutral gas applications.  It offers high chemical resistance to such things as chlorine, cleaning agents, and UV.  It also limits biofilm development.  Liquifit meets key food quality contact standards and regulations, including FDA and NSF 61 and 51.
