Parker’s new CDAS ATEX ensures validated air quality and efficient operation in ATEX zoned applications

Gateshead, UK. 31. May 2018 - Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has launched a new integrated drying and filtration system specifically designed for use in ATEX (ATmosphères EXplosibles) zoned applications. CDAS ATEX belongs to the CDAS (Clean Dry Air System) family of products which Parker introduced in early 2017 and has been modified to match the strict requirements of ATEX environments. The new system replaces the PNEUDRI MIDIplus (DMO) range of modular compressed air dryers.

The plug-and-play solution, which is ATEX 2014/34/EU (EX II 2 GD T6) certified, utilises state-of-the-art technology with full pneumatic control. CDAS ATEX is highly cost-effective and has low running and maintenance costs. The air quality is third-party certified according to ISO 8573-1 (Class 2.2.2 as standard, Class 2.1.2. and Class 2.3.2 as an option); the filters are verified according to ISO12500-1, ISO8573-5 (oil) and ISO8573-4 (particulate); the dryers are tested to ISO 7183.

CDAS ATEX features advanced filters that include the latest Parker domnick hunter OIL-X technology. It offers four stages of purification (general purpose coalescing filter, high efficiency coalescing filter, adsorption dryer, general purpose dry particulate filter) during which the eight most essential contaminants are minimized. In case liquid oil or water is present at the inlet of the purification system, it can also be outfitted with an optional water separator and will then be able to reduce two additional contaminants.

The system sets a new benchmark for ATEX applications by combining economy, efficiency, quality, and functionality into a solution that ensures longevity and low operating costs. In addition, CDAS ATEX is easy to install, operate and maintain, providing a fast return on investment.

“In critical ATEX applications, an efficient and reliable clean, dry air system is of the utmost importance. With CDAS ATEX, we have created a solution that not only meets, but exceeds the highest standards,” said Stephen Stewart, Product Manager Adsorption Systems at Parker.

CDAS ATEX is available now. More information can be found on Parker’s Gas Separation and Filtration Division EMEA website.
