Parker Advantage 2" Mini-Pleat Filters Deliver Optimum Filter Performance for the Most Demanding HVAC Applications

High-efficiency MERV ratings lower energy costs while meeting sustainability goals

Jefferson, Indiana, January 16, 2019 – Parker HVAC Filtration, a division of Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, announces its new Advantage™ line of 2" High-Efficiency Mini-Pleat Filters designed specifically for HVAC applications. The filters feature a mini-pleat design that provides outstanding particulate removal, dust-holding capacity, and efficiency making them an excellent choice as a primary or pre-filter.

A simple and effective upgrade, Parker Advantage 2" Mini-Pleat Filters feature a standard factory-installed downstream and side gasket, which provide sealing to minimize air bypass and improve efficiency. The high surface area and 2" depth make them the ideal replacement for traditional, bag and heavy box-style filters. Significant energy savings are made possible with a lower pressure drop than similar 2" filters due to their pleated design. The pleated design also contributes to a more compact footprint, requiring less storage space.

Parker’s newest HVAC filters feature 100% synthetic, gradient density, microfiber media that resists moisture and damage and will not support microbial growth. A lightweight, high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) frame ensures durability by completely sealing the filter. Spacing integrity is maintained with strong glue bead separators, which results in better airflow resistance and particulate filtering.

“When telling customers about our new Advantage 2" Mini-Pleat Filters, they seem most excited about the efficiency of our filters compared to “fin” style filters, said David Martinsen, Division Sales Manager at Parker HVAC Filtration. “Between the premium gasketing and our highly engineered filter media, they understand the value of investing in a superior product that will deliver low airflow resistance with fine fiber filtration,” Martinsen explained. “We’re always pleased to deliver a solution that we know will make a better impact on a facility’s air quality than something they already have in place.”

For companies looking for an economical way to gain points toward LEED certification, Parker offers a variety of Advantage 2" Mini-Pleat Filter models rated from 8 to 16 on the Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) scale and many that meet LEED efficiency standards. Points can be earned in the LEED certification process by specifying LEED-qualified filters during the construction phase in new buildings or by installing them as upgrades in existing buildings as outlined in the U.S. Green Building Council’s Guide to LEED Certification.

Additional Parker 2” Mini-Pleat Filter features include:

  • Tested and certified to ISO 9001 manufacturing standards

  • Tested in accordance with ASHRAE Test Standard 52.7 – 2007
