Parker Hannifin presents components and system solutions for Medical Devices and Bio Technology at Compamed, Düsseldorf.
COMPAMED 2009, Düsseldorf
18th – 20th of November
Hall 08a, Stand M13
Kaarst, 18th of November 2009 – Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, displays at this year’s COMPAMED innovative components and systems for medical, pharmaceutical and bio technologies. With extensive engineering expertise and its market leading breadth of product Parker provides cutting-edge parts and complete system solutions for Life Science applications.
Miniature Fluid components
The series 99 miniature solenoid valves is constructed of non-corrosive passivated stainless steel and contains no elastomers. These valves offer superior performance in vacuum applications. Combining high speed and small size, this stainless valve operates with low leak rates.
Parker’s new low energy solenoid valve, the TenX® Le offers high performance in a lightweight 10mm design. This electro-magnetic poppet valve incorporates efficient pulse width modulation (PWM) circuit technology, which consumes an insignificant amount of power and generates minimal heat, making it an ideal fit for portable medical and analytical devices.
Lead free Coupling and Connecting Technology
With the introduction of two new thermoplastic couplings, Parker Rectus presents a targeted expansion of its product range for medical technology. The most notable innovation in the Rectus PPL and PPM ranges – which are suited to the flow of gases and liquids – is in the ergonomic design: with an integrated unlocking key (thumb key on the coupling), the connection can be generated and released with one hand easily, safely and in less time, even with surgical gloves. A shut-off valve – choice of plug, coupling or double-sided – provides additional safety in the coupling process, which is now also detectable audibly: when inserted, the plug automatically locks in with a clearly audible “click” and thus indicates that the connection is engaged; to disconnect, simply press the thumb key. Manufacture using welding technology between the coupling and connecting technology eliminates potential leaks.
Innovative Parker Prädifa sealing solutions
Parker Prädifa presents a wide range of sealing solutions for medical devices and bio technology, designed and manufactured using advanced proprietary materials and cutting-edge technology. Parker has developed a wide range of specialty elastomers to satisfy the unique sealing needs for life sciences, including materials compliant with FDA and USP Class VI standards.
Leak free system solutions
Parker displays among other systems for medical applications a gas alarm module. This system provides an audible alarm in the event of falling gas pressure. If there is a catastrophic failure of the master gas, usually Oxygen, then the slave gases such as N2O are automatically cut off preventing hypoxia, a potentially life threatening situation. The system consists of an auxiliary reservoir that provides an alarm in the event of the “trigger” gas being interrupted or disconnected. The operating range of the module is 0 to 8 bar. As it is used in medical contexts like the area of anesthesia, it is suitable for operating with medical gas supplies.
