I was initially attracted to Parker as it is a global company with many opportunities to progress. I started in 1998 as an engineer trainee and had the opportunity to work in the United States on a new product for truck airbrakes. Over the years, my career path has included assignments as research and development engineer, process engineering manager and since 2004, value stream manager. I am currently responsible for leading a team which produces products for original equipment manufacturers, as well as, implementing operating efficiencies and cost cutting improvements. I choose to remain at Parker for several reasons. First, my current job enables me to combine technical, management, and customer relationships which is very interesting and brings a lot of new knowledge every day. Second, Parker supports people development and organization change through training. Third, Parker is quickly growing and is on the cutting edge—it embraces top industry techniques such as lean. My outside interests include hiking and skiing in the mountains as well as playing guitar in a band. |
